Visualping alternative for competitor research decks
By Owen, founder of Stravue·Updated 3 October 2026·6 min read
Visualping tells you when a web page changes, and for alerts alone it is cheaper and faster. Stravue is built for the step after that: the deck you present. It captures competitor pages on desktop and phone, puts numbered Comments on each Slide, and exports PowerPoint, PDF or a share link. Pick Visualping to be told. Pick Stravue to present.
What each tool is for
Visualping watches web pages and tells you when they change. You add a page, choose how often to check it, and each change arrives with screenshots, the change marked, a short AI summary and a flag for whether it looks important. It can log in, click and type before a check, and on Business plans it sends changes to Slack, Teams and Google Sheets. It is a mature, capable alerting tool.
Stravue starts from the other end: the meeting where someone asks what a competitor did. Paste a competitor's site and what you are after, and Stravue captures the pages full length on desktop and phone, with cookie banners and chat widgets removed. You put numbered Comments on each Slide, write an Overview under it, and export the Deck. Watching is one part of it. Stravue checks a watched page once a day and shows each Change as a before and an after.
Visualping tells you what changed. Stravue turns it into the deck you present.

When Visualping is the better choice
For alerts alone, Visualping is the better buy. These are the cases where it wins outright.
- You only need to know that something changed. If the email is the end of the job, Visualping does it for less. Its free plan covers 5 pages, and Personal 1K covers 10 pages for $14 a month.
- You need to know within minutes. Visualping can check as often as every 2 minutes. Stravue checks once a day, which suits pricing and positioning, but is too slow for stock, tickets or a regulation page you must catch the same hour.
- You watch a lot of pages. Business 20K covers 200 pages for $140 a month. Stravue's largest plan, Agency, watches 30 competitors for $199.
- The page sits behind a login. Visualping can sign in before each check. Stravue captures only what any visitor can see.
- Changes need to land in other tools. Visualping sends to Slack, Teams, Google Sheets, webhooks and its API. A Stravue Change arrives by email and in the Project.
When Stravue is the better choice
Pick Stravue when the change is the start of the work, not the end of it. Someone senior will ask what a competitor did, and the answer has to be a picture they can follow in a meeting.
- You have to show the real page. Stravue captures each page full length on desktop and phone, with cookie banners and chat widgets removed, so the Slide looks like the site a customer sees.
- You need to point at the part that matters. Numbered Comments sit on the Slide itself, on the price or the headline, with an Overview underneath. Stravue drafts Comments that quote the page, and you keep, change or delete them.
- You compare several competitors at once. The Comparison Slide puts two to six competitors in one picture at the same scale, all answering one Ask.
- The thing you send is a deck. Export the Deck as a PowerPoint file, a PDF or a share link anyone can open without an account. Studio and Agency put your logo on it.
- A Change has to be shown, not just noticed. Open a Change and it becomes two Slides, before and after, with Comments already on the words that moved. Drop them into the next Deck.
Stravue does not decide what a change means. It captures, drafts and lays out the evidence, and the judgement in the Deck stays yours. There is a guide to presenting competitor research if the deck is the part you find hardest.
Using both
The two tools also work together. Let Visualping watch a long list of pages, often and cheaply. When it flags a change that matters, capture that competitor in Stravue, put Comments on the Slides and add them to the Deck. Keep Stravue watching the few pages you present most, so the next review already has its before and after.
For which pages to watch and how often, read how to monitor competitor websites for changes. Plan details are on the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stravue a good Visualping alternative?
For presenting competitor research, yes. For change alerts alone, Visualping is the better fit: it checks pages as often as every 2 minutes and costs less per page. Stravue checks a watched page once a day, and its strength is the deck: real pages on desktop and phone, Comments on each Slide, and a PowerPoint, PDF or share link to send.
How much does Visualping cost compared with Stravue?
On 3 October 2026, Visualping had a free plan for 5 pages, Personal plans from $14 a month and Business plans from $140 a month. Stravue has no free plan: Pro is $39 or £29 a month, Studio $79 or £59, and Agency $199 or £149. You can capture three pages free on Stravue, with no account, to see the output first.
Can Stravue check a page more than once a day?
No. Each watched page is checked once a day. That suits pricing pages, homepages and feature pages, where a move matters over days, not minutes. If you must catch a change within the hour, use a dedicated change detector such as Visualping.
Does Visualping export to PowerPoint?
Visualping Reports, free on Business plans, export as PDF, Excel or CSV, or go out as a share link. Its Reports guide lists no PowerPoint export. Stravue exports the Deck as a PowerPoint file, as well as a PDF and a share link.
